What Is It About God That U Don’t Trust?

This question may sound absurd at first – but what do our actions reveal? Our actions reflect the state of our hearts, which is the seat of our emotions. Belief = behavior, so what’s our witness as Christians? What is it about God that we don’t trust? What about God is untrustworthy?

This morning we all woke up breathing – most with no assistance, congestion or thought to it. We were just breathing. Upon awakening, most of us immediately thought about the day’s action items and commitments and jumped out of bed ready to take on the day. We didn’t need assistance and most of us were free of aches and pains. Again, no thought to it – we just jumped up.

Why do I dwell here? Because God “gives to all life, breath, and all things.” He gives us life, breath and all things! Even the morning hot shower and double non-fat latte. So, why don’t we trust Him? Read More »

Cliff Jumping

I can’t take credit for this title – our pastor’s wife, Bonnie, often encourages us to jump off our personal “cliffs” and into a life of faith, a life of trusting God more than we trust ourselves. You’ve probably heard the cliche to take things “one step at a time. ” In my experience, that really is the way the LORD develops our faith, our trust, in Him. He asks us to  live a life of faith one step at a time.

The Old Testament is replete with account after account of the LORD developing relationships of faithfulness to Him. And the Bible also records His covenant promises to the faithful. We must remember that God cannot deny Himself and His faithfulness does not depend upon ours!

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13
